Seller's Comments and Description:

Real and lasting Joy, Peace, Love and Stillness can be found when we turn our Awareness inwards. Discover this for yourself by joining the first Hridaya Silent Meditation Retreat on African soil. This retreat was specifically created to intimately understand what meditation is and to experience the amazing inner transformations which it brings. WHAT IS HRIDAYA? Hridaya is a Sanskrit word that means the "Spiritual Heart". During meditation we shift our attention away from the head to the physical heart, using it as the object of our concentration. With continued practice, the Heart reveals itself as an organ of direct spiritual knowledge (intuition) and ultimately gives us the taste of the essential dimension of our Being – Stillness. What we really are. From this place of Stillness we ask the question "Who Am I?" without expecting a mental response. This is Ramana Maharshi's Self-Enquiry method that leads to profound, ineffable understandings of our True Nature, beyond words and concepts. WHO MAY BENEFIT FROM ATTENDING? Both beginners and advanced practitioners are welcome to explore the beauty of Hridaya meditation and hatha yoga, and the non-dual teachings of the great Indian sage, Ramana Maharshi. * Please feel free to share this event with others who may benefit from such an experience. WHAT IS COVERED? During the retreat select meditation methods and topics are shared from different traditions such as Tibetan Buddhism, Kashmir Shaivism, mystic Christianity and Islam to support the practice of non-dual teachings (Advaita). It becomes obvious that at their core, many traditions are talking about the same direct experience.
